THE MAN WHO INVENTED
CAMO
All Jim Crumley wanted to
do was hunt more effectively.
Unfortunately, the camo
patterns available to him in the early 1970s were not concealing him
from his quarry the way he wanted. So the only solution Jim could
come up with was to make his own camo. (Read more

THE HENRY
REED LEGACY is complete! Until his death in 1968, Giles County,
Virginia, fixture Henry Reed was quietly going about a life built
around family, tradition and Old Time music. Henry was instrumental in
the revival of interest in this musical form, becoming the subject of
serious academic study by scholar, Dr. Alan Jabbour. Today, his
legacy inspires musicians from across the world and down the road,
including Chris Via who created the Henry Reed Festival to celebrate
Henry's contribution to American music.
Our film is a study of the
impact one man can have merely by living his life honestly. Henry was
a man who fed his family from his land, stood up to a giant
corporation and had an open door to anyone who wanted to pick up a new
song, night or day.

"The Henry Reed
Legacy"
Here is
the trailer for "The Henry Reed Legacy," a documentary film that looks
at the significance of Giles County, Virginia Old Time musician Henry
Reed. Reed practiced a style of fiddling very reminiscent of Old
World styles and taught anyone who would listen, including Alan Jabour,
who later became the founding director of the American Folklife
Center. Reed's music has also shaped the life of Chris Via, a
fiddler who is preserving Reed's tradition in his playing and through
the Henry Reed Festival. repitoire
HOKIE NATION was Horse
Archer's first full length film and quickly became the best selling
independent film in the state. The documentary chronicles the
Hokie fan lifestyle and the rise of the football program through the
experience of the devotees who fill Lane Stadium and make it the most
exhilarating and intimidating place to play football in the country.
"Virginia
Creepers" Teasers
This is a teaser from the rough cut of "VIRGINIA CREEPERS"
featuring Richmond's infamous Bowman Body (a.k.a. Bill Bowman).
Bowman's ukulele was a fixture on the show.
Another teaser from the rough cut of "VIRGINIA CREEPERS," this
one featuring Jerry Sandford who played Ronald the Ghoul (and Bungles
the Clown) on WVEC 13 in Hampton. The story he recounts here is
when his coffin went missing just hours before show time.
