- WHY OLD TIME? (music documentary)
We began with a simple question: why Old Time?
What we have found is that Old Time music just isn't a sound. It's a lifestyle. It's living history. And the fans of old time music are what drives it ever forward while preserving a musical tradition.
Horse Archer Productions is pleased to announce a full length documentary called Why Old Time? which will explore the beauty and art of Old Time music and attempt to explain why this particular type of roots music holds such power. Filming will run through the summer months and we'll be talking to people who embrace the past and the future in the same breath, traveling to festivals to capture the experience of Old Time music in the 21st Century. We have begun filming, but we are still looking for musicians, historians and devoted fans to appear in the film, so click here for more information or contact executive producer Chris Valluzzo if you would like to contribute.
To complete this documentary, we are looking for musicians, historians and devoted fans to appear in the film. Help us explain why this musical tradition, established hundreds of years ago, is being preserved by people today and why they go such lengths to perfect songs written before they were born. Help us capture the sense of community and living history that marks Old Time music from the front porch to the main stage.
